Most detailed and extensive Pyke guide for S9 - Including items, builds, matchups and tips for 3 different lanes!

Hello and welcome. Inspired by the long and detailed Jhin guides by ayman910910, I decided to put my knowledge and typing skills to the test and write the biggest Pyke guide ever, covering 3 roles which I myself have a lot of experience in. I tried to include everything from pre-game setups to matchups and even go as far as listing some ways to avoid death for non-Pyke players.
My experience on Pyke? 400k mastery, Challenger on 2 smaller servers and several times Master on EUW. I’ve played Pyke ever since PBE and was already trying him out on other lanes on his release date. I’m not the best Pyke out there, but I feel like my knowledge and understanding of his limits and purposes is the deepest among others. I’m very glad to share and educate fellow Pyke mains or just people who are struggling against my main.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave comments below or give me a dm _^

Ability trivia

Q – Bone Skewer
W – Ghostwater Dive
E – Phantom Undertow
R – Death from Below

Combos:

Easy
Medium
Faker

TOP

Among the three roles top is most likely the least popular place to play Pyke but, in my opinion, also the most underrated one. Many matchups allow you to take aggressive trades and utilize the melee combo a lot more than in mid for example. Your playstyle in top should change mainly based on your opponent’s champion and his approach to the lane. If your opponent is stronger than you or too tanky to get kills from make sure to setup skirmishes around mid and jungle.

Top lane matchups

Playing Pyke on top lane usually lets you farm more freely and get better trades off compared to mid. On the flipside, many champions on top lane give you a really hard time or negate your kill pressure by being too hard to kill. I’ve listed the matchups to 3 categories with some helpful tips against each champion. I’m aware that not every champion is listed down below, if you have questions about specific champion make sure to comment down or dm me!

SUPPORT

The place he was meant to be, but not the place he stayed. Pyke’s kit has been utilized in some level in almost every role even though his original intention was to be created and balanced around the role of a support. To this date he still finds most value from this role and is widely played among all elos. Most of my own experience is from support Pyke so I have a deep knowledge of everything attached to this section.

Bot matchups

Since bot lane is a duo lane and Reddit has a character limit of 40k I won't go over every single ADC and Support, sorry not sorry. When it comes to laning at bot Pyke has a very easy time versus most of the champs. His mobility is unmatched, and he provides one of the strongest setups for an all-in. There are few champions which can make your life hard, but with some planning and adaptation you can always positively impact the game. I’ll try to categorize champions to avoid excessive typing.

MID

Pyke was locked to the support role for a long time. A while ago people in Reddit saw people like sOAZ and caps playing him mid in soloq. I always saw the potential for him in the mid, since his sustain was unmatchable and his damage output was actually really good. By running him in mid or top you allow yourself to receive solo XP, which makes your ultimate scale a lot harder. He is a big threat in mid game, but the hardest part is getting there without falling behind.

Mid matchups

Many matchups tend to give you a hard time whether that is because of the overwhelming push or just too high damage output for you to get good trades. Some of the meta mids also have kits which are perfect when it comes to dealing with Pyke’s abilities. Most of the matchups you face are either bad or really bad, but you have to keep in mind that Pyke was not designed for mid lane nor was he meant to be a strong laner. Try to cover your weak spots by roaming and gain advantages through other lanes. For these matchups, I’ll try to categorize champions to avoid excessive typing.

Stop playing. (serious discussion)

I want legitimate thoughts on this because I think it's a serious approach that has to be taken if we want an ideal Fortnite.
Simply put: Stop playing the game. At least, so much. I have a lot of talking to do on some lecture hall type shit and a lot of points to make, so I might put a tl;dr at the end.
  1. First and foremost: Epic, and honestly no game developer, has any actual obligation to design their game based around what the competitive community wants. By 'competitive community', I mean the portion of Fortnite's playerbase that has a focus on prize-pool events/tournaments, professional-level gaming, scrimmaging and competing at the highest levels of the skill distribution. I draw this very important distinction because Fortnite's competitive community is very vocal when big changes are made to the game... But is not representative of the large majority of the game's playerbase. More players are casual than otherwise, and these players are generally fine with what Epic does to the game (I'll explain this further later on).
I feel like this is a self-evident point, but let me back it up:
So, literally speaking, Epic does not have to do what the competitive, or really any part of the overall community, wants them to do. That's just a literal fact. They could if they wanted to, but they're under no obligations to do so. Hell, they could add in tanks next, then maybe like 2 new strong rocket launchers and unvault the guided missile launcher, then beef up the mobile suit.
But more so to the point, the wrong decision for Epic to make, in their eyes, would be to leave up the design path of the game purely to the community. And, we kind of saw this when the drumgun got reintroduced by vote. Even when they actually let people vote on the matter, we came out with an item that a lot of people complained about. I'm looking at a video on yt now by someone fairly big figure in Fortnite (not saying any names) that doesn't think it should have ever come out the vault. And this was something put to a direct vote.
  1. Epic isn't incentivized by complaints, and definitely not by the item shop (this is somewhat just opinion).
Epic has made it clear to me that raw community feedback isn't what they base their choices off of. We saw this with the pump shotgun; we saw this with siphon; we saw this when they took their time removing planes; And we're seeing it now with the gundam. No matter who comes out with a complaint, who makes a video doing a critique, or how many reddit posts we make, Epic isn't going to feel any pressure to add or remove items we do/don't want. And the item shop isn't going to move them either.
So why are they so hard to move? It's because of my central point in all this - people still play the game all the time. It's as simple as that.
As long as people are playing the game (a hell of a lot, too), then honestly, what incentive does Epic have to change their game? That's like trying to fix something that isn't broken, truth be told. People are still playing the shit out of the game, so why should Epic change what they're doing?
Think about it. Imagine that you are Epic. You come out with your own Season 10. You see all these competitive sceners mad as hell, critiquing the hell out of the game on some rotten tomatoes type shit. Then you take a closer look, and you see that not only is everybody else (i.e, the majority) is still playing the game - the competitive players themselves, the ones who supposedly dislike Season 10 the most, still play the game. You infer from this data that, apparently, people are still very much content with Fortnite. Thus, you don't feel any rush to listen to these complaints.
So what about the item shop? Well, three things. First, I don't think there are enough people who are both heavily against the mobile suits and are willing to stop using the item shop. Until we take a poll, which I don't think we have, we have to assume that most players are fine with them. Most players are casual, and most players are - you guessed it - still playing the game. They're probably not going to stop buying stuff.
Second, I don't think Epic relies on the item shop as heavily as we might think. They have other ways they make money without needing microtransactions off Fortnite. They own UE4, as well as several important subsidiary company games (most notably Rocket League, if I'm not mistaken). If money was a worry for them, I'd imagine that both STW and BR would cost money to play.
3rd and most imprtantly, and this gets back to my first point about the item shop, is that not a lot of people are going to give up buying v-bucks. Maybe even some in the competitive community. I say this because the item shop is one of the core elements of Fortnite that draws people in. The skins, weapon skins, gliders, emotes, bookbags, all of that plays a major role in what makes Fortnite it's own game, almost as much as mining/building. Why else would people buy a season pass? It's so that they can get skins and dances and shit. We're underestimating how important the item shop stuff is to Fortnite as a game.
It's kind of like a visual thing. I doubt the game would be as popular if it had a darker, grittier visual tone and atmosphere and no emotes/skins, gliders and backpacks and stuff. I can't prove that but I would bet money on it.
  1. If we begin to drop the game, Epic would have no choice to respond. Let's say that starting right now, every single pro-competitive Fortnite player were to not only quit Fortnite, but switch over to some other game. Can be anything - Apex, Gears, Counter Strike, Overwatch, Halo, pretty much any other skill based shooter with a competitive scene.
Epic might not feel the sting at first, but that's definitely going ti have a major effect. Not only have they singlehandedly lost pretty much all of their competitive scene, they've also lost a number of major community members who bring in fans. They won't be able to throw another World Cup event or invitational or whatever. Fortnite instantly loses it's glamor. And on top of that, other rival games are going go start growing. PLUS, it has the added affect (however small or large it may be), that people straight up won't be using the item shop, if that's where we actually need to put the focus.
Obviously... There's no real way to know if something like this can even happen. But, seriously, what is there to lose out on? If Epic is already screwing up the game, especially for the competitive side, then why not just start playing something else? If they keep making bonehead decisions on some dumb and dumber type plays, then why keep going back to the game when you can go to something else where the devs actually put an emphasis on respecting the competitive scene?
Even if we think everything I said is wrong. The smart choice for the players is to branch out and not put all their eggs into this one basket. It's a mistake to invest so much time and money into something that could, honestly, flop at any moment.
The reason why some other games have such long-lasting professional scenes is because the pro-level tourneys and matches are sort of a core part of those game's legacies, and so the developers value it much more. For something like Counter Strike, it's almost synonymous with esports shooters. You can, in theory, play CS and be a casual but it's a lot harder to pull off than being a casual Fortnite player who probably sticks to ltms, rumble and regular modes or even STW. Fortnite didn't get it's first competitive events until well after it released, and even then, Epic spends more time appealing to the casual playerbase because it's so much larger.
We're how many weeks into season 10? How many complaints in are we? How many tweets and posts and videos in? Raise your hand if you're pleased with the direction Fortnite is taking. I mean, I've been so upset with the game that whenever i play it now, I do the STW mode (which I realize is dope tbh)
TLDR - Epic likely might not change their handling of Fortnite until a large enough portion of the playerbase stops playing the game consistently; the idea is that this would incentivize them to make changes in order to bring back those lost fans - changes that would make the game more enjoyable for us. The chances of this happening are admittedly low, but I don't see any other good alternatives. It might be the case that this is how Fortnite's supposed to be as a game. In which case, if you're still playing it, and you're still very vocal in your feedback, you probably should just settle for what you got. The game is on some code geass type swag and it might be here to stay.
I always tell people that Gears is the go-to if you're a Fortnite player. It's 3rd person, there's a lot of mechanical skill involved, and the shotgun is your best friend. And like several fortnite pros are former gears players.
Edit: A side note I forgot to talk about is the fact that Fortnite was never even intended to be a sweat game. When Epic first talked about Fortnite, this was like not long after they handed Gears of War over to the Coalition, the whole idea and purpose of the game was supposed to be something about like what STW is. Even the PVP multiplayer was supposed to be about building bases/fortresses and fighting off monsters. A lot of people don't know that because Epic wasn't nearly as big back then, their most notable titles up to that point were Unreal Tournament and Gow. Battle Royale mode almost never made it, it just so happened to be the thing that took off. So we need to remember that Epic's idea for Fortnite is a lot different from ours and there isn't much we can do to change that.
One thing the competitive community could try to switch to would be more smaller-based, team vs team creative modes. E.g, 3v3 Zone Wars team tournaments. I feel like these are just as enjoyable to watch as regular lobbies, but with the added benefits of a controlled environment. So you don't have mobile suits and other unwanted items in the matches.

Jax Top matchup discussion

Hey everyone,
in the last few months Jax has become a really common pick, both top and in the jungle. With so many games now having Jax in them, some complaints were bound to happen. Lots of people call Jax OP, and I'm here to tell you why I disagree and maybe give some tips on some of the matchups. I think Jax is in a good spot as his insane late game is balanced out by his weak early game. If he is allowed to get a ton of gold and experience he becomes a monster, but he's really easy to shut down.
In the following I'll briefly talk about every matchup, give my thoughts about it and a difficulty rating. Feel free to disagree as I'm open to change my mind, but so far I have not read a single good argument to make me think differently. In fact, most arguments I've read make absolutely no sense, and often times even contradict themselves. Before someone comes around saying "This high elo player (let's use Tyler or Hashinshin as an example) says Jax is OP", I'd like to say that there are also many high elo players (let's take TFBlade or Duke as example) who disagree.
I'd also like to stress that If you think a champion is OP, play it yourself. Either you'll climb because it is OP, or you'll lose and realize why it isn't, and thus learn how to play against it.
In my opinion, Jax loses lane to 60% of all top lane champs, goes even 30% of the time and wins 10%. This seems fine to me, as late game he'll win almost any 1v1, so to offset that strength he has to lose lanes and doesn't team fight particularly well.
With that being said, here's how I feel about the different matchups. This is from Jax' point of view, so if you're playing the other side of the matchup just flip the argument (e.g. "easy lane, but can roam well and snowball other lanes" from the other champion's POV means "be careful in lane so you don't fall behind and try to roam"). Difficulty 1 = very easy for Jax, 10 = very difficult for Jax.
Champion Thoughts Overall Difficulty
Aatrox He's really strong in lane, you're guaranteed to lose lots of minions and experience. You can be dove easily because of his ult. Eventually you outscale him in 1v1s, but he doesn't fall off as hard as he used to anymore, thus he'll still be a big threat to your team mates. 8.5
Akali Will poke you down, fighting back is nearly impossible as you lose both short trades and all ins. Recent shroud changes make it a bit more tolerable, but still a rather difficult matchup. Dont ever all in if her shroud is up. 7.5-8
Camille One of the easier matchups, after about 10 minutes Jax starts winning 1v1s but Camille can roam really well with her E+R. If she plays it right and isn't behind she can punish you for mistakes (baiting your E, making you waste ult to kite you and kill you afterwards). 4.5-5
Cassiopeia Pretty hard to beat, she wins early and scales really well, too. Can snowball in Jax' favour, but unlikely. 7.5
Cho'Gath Can punish him if he overstays vs passive + conqueror stacks, but usually hard to kill / harass because of ult damage and passive sustain. Eventually Jax outscales 1v1, but it takes a while. Jax should probably take TP and focus on farming. 7
Darius Pretty difficult matchup for Jax, especially at 6 and vs ignite. Need to build hp and hope to get a good fight with passive + conqueror, but even then hard to 1v1. Often takes until 25+ minutes to be able to consistently win fights, at which point you likely lost some turrets / objectives / fights where he roamed and killed your team. 7
Dr. Mundo Relatively easy because even if you can't kill him, you can usually farm somewhat safely and outscale. Obviously get executioner's. 3
Ekko Almost never see Ekko top, but it's not that bad of a pick. He can harass you and should never die because of his ult, also scales relatively well into late. 5
Fiora Really interesting matchup, slighty Fiora favoured, but overall the better player wins. Late Fiora wins if Jax builds tanky (tri, steraks, titanic ga), 60/40 if Jax builds to 1v1. 6.5
Galio Can't beat him, he deals way too much damage, has too much cc and gets really tanky with aftershock. Just try to farm and not fall too far behind. 7.5-8
Gangplank Can't win if GP is smart, Jax should definitely fall behind a lot, eventually GP gets outscaled but that takes 25-30 minutes. His ult can also make things harder for your team. You have to punish every single mistake he makes, or you'll lose. 7.5
Garen Pretty hard to deal with, especially if he has ignite / you're the villain. If you lose early it'll take 30 minutes to start winning 1v1s, but if you don't 100-0 him he'll just heal back with his passive. 6.5
Gnar Used to be a hard lane, but not too hard anymore because good in solo queue would mean OP in pro play. Don't underestimate his damage when he's about to transform and respect their jungler, against the right (wrong) pick you can easily get cced for 3 seconds. 5
Gragas Don't see Gragas top much anymore, but he wins most trades for the first 15 minutes and provides a ton of cc + tankiness. 6
Hecarim I only played this matchup once? from Hecarim's side, probably slightly Jax favoured but not too much, as with conqueror Hecarim can build relatively tank, disrupt teamfights and deal good damage. 5
Heimerdinger Impossible to win lane, you can't trade, all in, or even farm under your turret. He wins many 1v1s late and is way more useful in team fights. Definitely one of the most painful lanes to play. 9
Illaoi Pretty hard to kill if you fall behind, she can just keep splitting and do well 1v2, alternatively team fighting against Illaoi if your team is full of melees is a guaranteed loss. Need to get ahead, then you can snowball. Obviously try your hardest to dodge her E. 6
Irelia Really cool matchup. Early Irelia is a bit stronger, at 10-15 min Jax starts getting a bit stronger 1v1. Really snowbally matchup, whoever gets more help / is the better player wins. Later Jax wins 1v1, Irelia is better in team fights. Overall slightly Jax favoured, but only slightly. 5.5
Jarvan Almost never see J4 top, but he's not a terrible top pick overall. This particular matchup however is probably pretty favourable for Jax, just gotta build some early armor and respect enemy jungler, he can't really stop you from farming. 3
Jayce Hard counter. You can't really go for short trades with him, all inning him will not work early, you'll miss a ton of cs and exp, probably a lot of plates and take forever to get items. Best bet is to max Q and pray he misplays, but still one of the hardest lanes. 8.5
Karma Not really played top much anymore, but always does pretty well into melees. She can harass you easily, you can't go for short trades, you can't really all in and you will fall behind. 6.5-7
Kayle Nobody plays her anymore, but she can be annoying early, if you don't fall far behind you can start winning at 15 min. Overall really snowbally, whoever gets more help will destroy the other. 5?
Kennen Probably the hardest counter there is. You lose at all stages of the game. You can't farm, not even under turret, can't win fights, you don't outscale 1v1 and he's 100 times more useful in team fights. 9
Kled Don't remember when I played this matchup the last time, but he's deceptively strong in 1v1s. Snowballs pretty hard, so if Kled ever gets ahead you'll never beat him, ult also allows him to roam and get other lanes ahead easily. 6.5
Lissandra She'll harass you, you will fall behind in cs and can't ever all in her unless your jungler helps you. She'll be way more useful in team fights and is great at picking up people, can also easily lock you down in team fights. Mercs / QSS mandatory. 7.5
Malphite He can easily harass you all lane, you're not gonna win any fights, you will 100% fall behind. He can roam easily with ult and is more useful in team fights. The only chance to EVER beat him 1v1 is mercs, legend:tenacity and QSS, but good luck building QSS and mercs vs pyhsical damage and knockups. 8
Maokai Ever since conqueror came out it's not as bad of a matchup anymore, but Maokai still does well most of laning phase. Early executioner's is nice, but 800 gold is quite a lot at 10 min. He obviously gets outscaled in pure 1v1 somewhat quickly, but that's the point of full tanks, win lane, roam, help team. Obviously more useful in team fights with all the cc in his kit and sustain. 4.5
Nasus Way harder than people seem to think. Harassing him doesn't work well because he heals back to full with passive, he wins many all ins because of wither and ult, can easily build really tanky and even max E to poke you out of lane. QSS really useful later on, but not a great buy if the rest of the team is mainly knockups and phyiscal damage. 6.5
Neeko Don't really know, but she can likely farm safely, harass you easily and scales well. 6.5?
Olaf This lane is actually really hard for Jax, all Olaf has to do is take Arcane Comet and max Q. He'll bully Jax out of lane and straight up win 1v1s for most of the game. He can't get stunned, deals true damage and Q max is incredibly hard to deal with as Jax. 7
Ornn Pretty strong in lane, doesn't matter if you have conqueror and whatnot because he does so much damage and gets super tanky with a lot of CDR. Eventually you outscale him 1v1, but his cc is great for team fights. Gets changed in 9.1 though, so will have to reevaluate then. 5.5
Pantheon Super annoying, pokes you out of lane, you can't even farm under your turret and he builds a lead so big you can't even 1v1 him until 20+ min. Also roams really well with ult, gotta pray your team doesn't die to ult and take his plates while he's gone. 8
Poppy Fuck this champion, she completely destroys you in lane, you can't fight, you can hardly even farm and you can get dove really easily. In team fights she completely denies you and renders you useless with W, E and R, but even in 1v1s she deals a lot of damage. 240 + 90% bonus AD + 16% max hp aoe 4 sec base cooldown Q btw. 8
Pyke Does surprisingly well against Jax, he should never die because of E and passive, has good kill pressure and is overall pretty good at all points of the game. 6-6.5
Quinn Pokes you all game, denies you with E and shouldn't really die while being able to farm well. Can roam really well with ult and pick up easy kills, though eventually she becomes less useful both in team fights and 1v1s. 6.5
Renekton One of the classic counters, just like 6 years ago he'll bully you in lane, has good kill pressure especially with ignite, also uses ER insanely well. Need to survive until you become strong and never fight without conqueror. 6.5
Rengar Really hard matchup if the Rengar is good, he just takes short trades and heals back up, slowly whittles you down until you have to recall or die. Shouldn't die because he can always W / empowered W / empowered E / R away. 7.5
Riven A good Riven should win this matchup for 20+ minutes, don't ever fight without conqueror and don't underestimate her damage, she can easily 100-0 you in fights longer than 3-4 seconds. Biggest "advantage" you have is that Riven is really hard to master, so in low elo it's probably a lot easier for Jax. 7.5
Rumble Almost as hard as the Kennen lane, you can't fight, you can hardly even farm under your turret, you'll behind in farm, exp and turret hp. It's up to your jungler to stop you from losing the lane, not much you can do yourself. At the same time if your jungler comes top a lot you'll likely lose dragons and bot lane. Rumble also scales really well and does great in team fights with his ult. 8.5
Ryze Very similar to Rumble, but a bit harder to play and less impactful ult for solo queue. Will also make you fall behind and even wins 1v1 at 30+ minutes. 8
Shen Never see Shens anymore, shouldn't be too hard of a matchup. Early game he outtrades you, so try to avoid fighting. Just try to farm and become really strong, eventually you can kill him. Obviously take plates if he ults and you can't follow up, that's one of the best ways of getting ahead in the 1v1. 4?
Singed Also pretty uncommon nowadays, but still a good counter. Can't kill him if he uses his brain, conqueror helps a lot but he can always win and disengage fights with E. 7
Sion Wins lane, gets ridiculously tanky and wins 1v1s even after laning phase because he can just stack CDR and health. Can even miss 1/3 of his spells and easily win fights during laning phase, it's best to almost never fight him before 20 minutes. 7.5
Swain Idk, very rarely see Swain top but used to be similar to Lissandra, good harass, hard to kill, great in team fights. Definitely need ignite or executioner's. 6.5
Talon Rarely picked top, but has great kill pressure vs Jax, shouldn't die 1v1 because of ult and E, roams insanel well. Luckily still somewhat auto attack reliant, so counterstrike helps deny his passive and reduce the aoe damage. Definitely need to get early armor. 5.5-6
Teemo Well, it's Teemo vs a melee, of course this lane is hell. Only way to have a chance is play aggressively early, get a kill and snowball, else you're going to get next to no farm, lose exp, lose plates and be useless all game. 8
Trundle Just farm and eventually outscale him, don't get baited by him being low hp because W+R will make him win many all ins. Not very difficult if you respect his damage and don't take stupid fights. 3.5
Tryndamere If Tryndamere is smart he'll easily win lane, he can dive you, take your turret and snowball. Only chance to ever win is to get tri, er, randuins / steraks and max E second. 7
Urgot Almost no chance to win if Urgot doesn't misplay, all he has to do is harass you all game and farm. He'll win 1v1s, especially when he has (or spellbook-switches to) ignite, can build really tanky and still outdamage you at 30 min. Also more useful in team fights with R and its fear. 8.5
Vayne Shits on you the first 15 minutes, then it becomes a skill matchup. After 6 don't waste E stupidly or you'll pay for it. ER second and steraks / randuins third really important. Ideally get jungler to gank, though whether he listens is a different story. 6
Viktor After the double nerfs not too hard anymore, still have to respect him early but he doesn't auto win while misplaying anymore. Have to counterstrike empowered autos and get mercs. 6.5-7.5?
Vladimir Annoying early because of all the poke, but if you start Q and get him low early it's a manageable lane. This matchup just gets worse and worse as time goes on though, as you can't 100-0 him if he's smart, he outsustains you and later on straight up wins 1v1, all while being a team fight monster. Need ignite or executioners, though you will still lose. 8
Wukong One of the easiest matchups for Jax, Wukong either oneshots his enemy or he doesn't, so an early phage, ninja tabi and ult make you survive and easily win the lane. Only risk is him roaming and picking up kills on your team. 3
Yasuo Also an easier lane, if the Yasuo is good he has a chance to win early and snowball, but with ER you'll win 1v1s. Just can't fall behind and hope your team isn't all skillshots (windwall...) and don't let Yasuo get ult off on multiple people. 4
Yorick Probably the easiest matchup Jax has, as he's all about auto attacks. He wants to auto Q you, you just counterstrike. He gets his ghouls? Just counterstrike. He's designed to splitpush? Well shit, so is Jax and he does it better. The only time you have to be careful is early between level 6 and maybe 11, and if you're not ahead and fight without conqueror. 2.5
I could have written a lot more for each matchup, but then the question is how deep do I go? Obviously I can't explain every single situation for every single matchup, else I'd have to write 20 times "keep track of this cooldown and make sure to play around it" and similarly small details. The table is big enough as it is, and it's more of a general recommendation as to which champions are good against Jax.
Conclusion
Many champions do pretty well against Jax, whether it's by poking him out of lane(e.g. Aatrox, Gangplank, Jayce, Teemo), being safe and scaling well themselves (e.g. Cassiopeia, Heimerdinger, Kennen, Urgot), being great at roaming(kled, quinn), team fighting and denying him(e.g. Kennen, Lissandra, Poppy) or by winning 1v1s late game (Fiora, Vladimir). In fact, many of his hardest counters fit well into many of these categories, Kennen for example pokes Jax out of lane, scales super well himself, both in team fights and 1v1s, and is overall a safe pick.
I also want to stress again that the point of this post is not to argue that Jax is weak, but it's to show that many picks do well against him. If the Jax gets fed early (which he never should), or you have trouble ending games before 35 minutes, then something else went wrong, in which case the problem isn't Jax but someone misplaying or you not knowing how to end games (lower elos).
If anyone is wondering about the average difficulty, I rated the matchups first and then calculated the average, and it turned out to be 352/55 = 6.4.
As final notes, if you're just looking to find a good counter to Jax, some easier champions I'd recommend are Darius, Garen, Malphite, Pantheon, Poppy, Sion and Teemo. Some more difficult to play ones would be Aatrox, Jayce, Kennen, Rengar, Riven, Urgot. Additionally, pay attention to his conqueror stacks and be careful which fights you take.
Final final note: If you want to practice any of these matchups for a few minutes in customs 1v1s, I'd be down to play. I haven't played all of these matchups super much myself and some practice wouldn't hurt.
I hope this was at least a bit useful for some of you! I spent a few hours writing this, so if you disagree with something or think Jax is in fact OP please don't blindly downvote, but tell me about it in the comments. :)

There's still a way to get Cyber Sleuth+DLC

Credit to GameFaqs user Mugendramon:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/177629-digimon-story-cyber-sleuth/77491531
"The digital releases of Cyber Sleuth have been removed from American and European PS Stores, they've been apparently discontinued in the digital format for the West like had happened with the PS3's Digimon All-Star Rumble game in the past, likely a time/license thing that commonly happens with many other Bandai Namco games.
All things considered, for Cyber Sleuth your best bet is to go with a physical PS4 copy but I do recommend that you get a physical European copy, why? Long story short: because you should still have the option to acquire the free DLC packs for that particular version of the game with certain preparations (the following won't be compatible with American copies of CS, however), assuming you didn't get your region's DLC for this game before.
This is made possible because I noticed that the digital PS4 version of Cyber Sleuth is still currently available for Southeast Asian PS Stores, such as the one from Singapore:
https://store.playstation.com/en-sg/product/EP0700-CUSA03185_00-ASIABERSLEUTH001
Scroll below into "Add-Ons" for the four DLC packs, you can quickly create a secondary PSN account for Singapore to freely download those DLC packs before they get axed; this content currently appears to be the last English instance of the DLC to be currently distributed on PS Store to new customers so those with the slightest interest should by all means haul ass to grab it while you can! (And while going at it I also recommend grabbing the free DLCs for both Digimon World: Next Order as well as the latest Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory even if you currently don't have those games.)
The Southeast Asian version of Cyber Sleuth is effectively an European copy under the hood, so if you grab the SEA DLC you should be able to download and install it on your console through your SEA account and then simply swap back to your main PSN account to use it alongside your European physical copy.
I've just tried the above with my physical European copy and the SEA DLC installed normally."

LETS TALK TANKS: Complete guide for simple cookie cutter builds.

GUIDE TO TANK, BRUISER, AND FIGHTER BUILDS
Alright so I have tried to make this post like three times. Long long story short got to the point that I was doing this huge huge spiral out of control trail of thought that read something like, "If you went Black cleaver into steriks into spirit into omen and the enemy team had three ads and one ap that wasn't focusing you you should look to grab blah blah blah." Did that for like every item in the game was allot of info. Like a lot a lot of info. So took a break did some fapping plus yoga to clear the mind and soul. Here is the plan I'm going to give you the cookie cutter out line that I could agrue is the way you should build every champ in the game. Explain how it works. Then give you a couple example build for Sion, why Sion because he can kinda build whatever tier of tank he wants and get away with it including AP. Plus its my post. Will say that this build strategy wont be 100% the best possible way to build a champ every game. Will say this will be 100% never the worst or wrong way to build a champ. Like when in doubt fallow this shit.
BUILD OUT LINE STRATS
-When your team is ahead and you are ahead in lane.
-When your team is ahead and you are behind in lane.
Side note: when in doubt this is your safest bet build order. Because It can work if some one on your team does scale up/pop off. starts too not be a drunk monkey.
-For when your team is behind and you are ahead in lane.
-When your team is behind and you are behind in lane
...Word up. So what does that actually mean?
-HELP ME GET GOLD ITEMS. (examples.)
-FUCK MY LANE OPPONENT. (examples.)
-FUCK THE FED GUY (examples.)
-WTF DOES MY TEAM NEED? (examples.)
WTF DO I NEED?
EXAMPLE BUILDS AND SITUATIONS.
EXAMPLE 1
When ahead in lane. And team is Ahead.
-Playing Sion vs Dar top, Zac Jg, Ori Mid, Trist ADC, and Morg sup your team is Sion top, Rengar JG, Zed MID, Ziggs ADC and Sona sup.
-Picking your HELP ME GET GOLD FIRST ITEM. Well fuck that's a strong front line they got IDK if I can out tank Zac and Dar. So I want to build Damage but we do need a front line so I am looking for a damage plus tank item first buy. Sion is going even in lane, Zac got a good gank bot lane and got his Trist a double Kill. First back have like 1200G
Rengar comes top lane and ganks for sion when sion hits six you get the kill. shove in lane finish black clever. Your bot lane gives another kill to Trist. Zed goes bot and gets a double during the kill on ziggs.
Third back time your ahead in lane and team is ahead. Trist and Morg are really the only fed guys on enemy team.
-Picking Your FUCK MY LANE OPPONENT ITEM.
Your looking for something to keep your lead vs Dar and help vs Trist in case you guys team fight at dragon and since Dar and Trist both AD you can wombo combo your next buy. Looking for something good vs ad.
Sion builds Spirit Sold his D shield for enough gold to one shot buy it.
Your Zed gets caught out by Morg with the Pick enemy team Try's to rush Baron your team rotates stops the baron and Aces them.
-Shop Before the baron push
Time too Pick the WTF DOES MY TEAM NEED ITEM.
Your ahead your team doesn't need a whole lot maybe something to help you push and finish the game more quickly. Or something to help your team Dive a tower in.
With zzrot, ziggs, and baron your team hard shoves and wins the game. (Final item the fuck the fed guy one would have been Omen.)
EXAMPLE 2
When team is ahead, and you are is Behind
Enemy Teams Comp: Riven Top, Nid JG, Ori Mid, Jhin ADC, And Braum sup. Your team Comp: Sion Top, Sej JG, TF mid, Cait ADC, and Zyra sup.
Well Fuck Yeah! My bot lane counter picked the fuck out of their bot lane. I am not the only tank I can build some damage. All I have to do is not fed Riven and I am set! GG EZ Kids! Level Two Riven took W and Flash Ws you Before you hit level two plus Ignites you. You give FB but chunked her out of lane with passive. Well I am going Tanky First Buy you think as you TP top lane. You have to use flash Level 5 when riven hit six before you did but hey man you lived. TF Ulted bot and your team 4 man dove got a double and Ori sucided roaming bot lane, to try to save tower.
Time to pick your Help me get gold Item
Well your behind and your win condition at this point is not fed so your looking for something good vs Riven and Helps you CS.
You grab Glacier shroud plus boots.
TF ulted top lane killed Riven, Him and Sej got Rift while you backed too finish Frozen heart. I am going honor TF after this game you think. You walk back to lane and are greeted by a Nid spear. FUCK that hurt!! FUCK RIVEN IS IN that side BRUSH! FUCK THIS GAME! as your screen is black and grey. You TP Top lane on revive Riven all ins you with Ignite (Turns out true damage hurts vs no Health) your chunked out can only farm under tower but you cant go back to base no tp and there is a big wave you need. Riven has the lane Frozen and your stuck in a weird farming with e spot. TF spawns Rift mid him sej and Zyra start too push mid. Riven roams towards Mid after unfreezing the lane. You really cant fallow need that sweet sweet cs and your still chunked. you spam ping MIA and farm. Riven Gets a double kill on Zyra and TF.
Time to pick your FUCK MY LANE OPPONENT ITEM.
You need to stop feeding so you need health so if Nid ganks you wont Do all your health in one spear and ignite on riven be true damge. You also need Armor cuz Riven be fed.
You grab a Bami Cinder plus finish Merch Treds.
Sej counter ganks bot lane. Only your Cait dies, your team gets two kills plus drag. Riven did invade your top side jg and kill sej latter on. Ori did have a mean ult during a team fight mid got a double and Nid picked up a kill somewhere. But your Bot lane is doing a good job snowballing there lead.
Time to pick FUCK THE FED GUY item.
Ori and Nid are power spiking Riven is also Doing a good job trying to 1v9. The biggest threat too you RN are Both AP and AD damage but all three of them are burst champs.
You Buy GSP
Your team is doing a good job more importantly Zyra and Sej are doing a good job keeping your fuck up, Riven in line. You won a couple team fights pushed too inheb towers both bot and mid. After getting a pick on Jhin (That you got with your ult no less) your team goes to do baron. During baron Riven and Ori wombo the fuck out of your team its horrible man blood every where MIA pings being thrown left and right. Long story short you team straight up Delta-Fox Dignitas the baron.
Time to pick your WTF DOES MY TEAM NEED item.
Your team needs to live through the wombo combo that is ori and riven. Sej is way ahead of build wise and is front line for your team. You need to just sit on your back line and keep them alive.
Locket it is. After pushing enemy team off towers and getting a good team fight in you did have too use locket during the fight your team wins. (The WTF DO I NEED ITEM woulda been a major health item. Would actually say warmogs woulda been good this round.)
EXAMPLE 3
When your team is behind and your ahead
Enemy team comp: Trundle Top, Lee sin JG, Ahri Mid, Cait ADC, And Ali Sup. Your comp Sion Top, Elise Jg, Talon Mid, Ez ADC, And Lulu sup.
This Trundle is bad has let you get three full Qs on him. Your elise comes top you get first blood. Trundle TPS into lane with a long sword and manna crystal. Trinity Force Trundle? WTF he wont have like any wave clear. Talon dies to Ahri 1v1 and bot lane is getting bullied by cait.
HELP ME CS ITEM. Since you are vs a Trundle you don't want to rush a tank item. And you know he is building a low wave clear item first so you want to punish that by shoving him in making him miss farm. (Side note I main the fuck out of Trundle and feel it should be 100% reportable if you don't go tiamat/sunfire on him first item.)
Tiamat it is.
Talon isn't having a good game mid has been ganked two times. Bot lane is keeping even in farm but they have zero lane pressure. Elise doesn't have a lane to gank. But you have trundle shoved in and building a quite the cs lead. Even killed lee sin with minion advantage during a gank.
choosing your Hydra upgrade and FUCK THE FED GUY item.
Ahri is fed and is going be looking to roam soon Cait is in the same boat as you ahead in cs but not kills. Your looking for health item (ahri does some true damage) and MR.
Titanic Hydra- Gives health but Trundle is going for a split push build Titanic is more the team fight option and you have a hunch your going be 1v2ing top lane allot. Ravenous Hydra- Good for the 1v1 and gives you lane sustain.
Ravenous it is. As for the Ahri issue.. you only have 1300 gold left so you can either get hex drinker for Maw or spectars cowl.
you return too lane with ravenous hydra and Specters cowl.
Bot lane got popped open Ali made a god tower dive play cait got a double kill and tower FB. Elise and Talon are flaming each other in chat over Elise not ganking enough. And Elise calling talon dumb for not understand she had no lane too gank. Ahri did roam top after you killed Trundle thank god you built specters you made it out alive. and finished Spirit visage. After getting top tower your roamed into enemy jg killed lee and got a red buff. you died to too trundle who came to help lee. Elise is trying to stop the bleeding bot lane talon is 1 5 mid.
Time to pick the Fuck my lane opponent item. Your team isnt strong enough to win a 5v5 turns out you are going have to be 1v2ing allot top lane. You have your health bard figured out with life steal plus spirit visage you need armor vs Trundle and Lee. Also if you grab some manna you could stay top forever and then some.
you opt into IBG.
After getting a sick play on bot lane with ult and getting a double kill for ez. You head mid after dragon. Enemy teams Trundle and lee Flank your team you guys win the 5v4 but just barely. You head back top lane to pressure and get 2nd tower top lane. Enemy team Cait is matching you she hurts plus her broken ass w makes it hard to all in her with out ulting. You finally do ult her she flashes out of the way and you give up a kill. (Plus side your team did win a 4v4 since Cait was top)
time for the wtf do I need item.
You need to shut down Cait.
But not going lie been writing for like four hours. I want to play Sion for some reason so I am going cut this short. By now you should get the gist of all this. The final wtf does my team need is thorn mail too keep kill pressure on Cait.
Here is the Final items that I missed from last LTT
DAMAGE PLUS TANK ITEMS
LIFE STEAL ITEMS
HEALTH ITEMS
Now im going copy and paste all the other items from my last post so they are in nice little one shop spot. How to carry as a support in Season 6 - A Diamond Guide

Hi /summonerschool! My name is Claves I am a Diamond Support main who finished in Diamond 1 in season 4 and peaked at Diamond 3 in Season 5. I'm back with another guide to help you guys learn how to support this season! :D My OP.GG can be found here: http://na.op.gg/summoneuserName=Claves
I've been playing since Season 1, and started maining support in Season 2. If anyone has any questions feel free to comment and I'll try to help.
1. Who to play?
2. What runes and masteries do I run?
This is our first Mastery Page: http://i.imgur.com/litCv3M.png
0-18-12 | This uses Windspeaker's Blessing. I run this page on Janna, Nami, Soraka.
Next is this one: http://i.imgur.com/6ToZrZH.png
0-12-18 | This uses Bond of Stone. I run this on Thresh, Braum, Poppy (Can also go Thunderlord's on Poppy support), Alistar, Blitzcrank, Tahm Kench, Leona, Nautilus, Shen, Trundle, and Taric.
Here's the next one: http://i.imgur.com/KBwbh4H.png
0-18-12 | This uses Thunderlord's Decree. I run this page on Sona, Bard, Karma, Annie, Vel'Koz, Brand, Zilean, Lulu, Zyra, and Morgana.
And lastly: http://i.imgur.com/FjvvnNB.png
0-18-12 | This page is almost identical to the last one, except there's no mana regen. I use this page when playing support Kennen.
For runes it depends on the champion. I’ll post a few of my rune pages for specific champions. Feel free to run whatever you like. This is just what I've had success with.
3. What items do I start with?
Always start yellow trinket, but change to red trinket once you get sightstone
4. What should I build next?
5. What should my core items be?
6. How do I win the early laning phase?
  1. Auto attacking the minions
  2. Auto attacking or poking the adc
  3. Auto attacking or poking the support.
6.5 ROAMING
7. How do I ward properly?
8.Deep Warding:
9. How do I play teamfights? Do I peel or do I dive?
Thanks for reading, any questions or comments please post them below and I’ll try to reply. My IGN is Claves. Feel free to add me if you have any questions.
